Lab Benches
Two students on each side of a bench can share a tray, a microscope, or a text and still have a partner across from them. The bench is the work surface, not an extra desk. Leave real gaps between benches or the room becomes one long table.
Use it when
- Science practicals
- Shared equipment
- Tasks where students should face a partner and still have a surface between them
Pick something else when
- A test that must be individual
- Whole-class board work with no partner talk
- Benches would block the only aisle to a door or eyewash
