Paired Desks seating plan for 12 students
Two-student desks with walking gaps between pairs and between rows. This version is built for a class of 12.
How the seats are placed
Desks are set two by two. A walking gap separates pairs from the next pair and from the row behind them, and the screen stays at the front so you can teach and then send them into the pair task.
For 12 students, the plan uses 2 rows of seats, and every student row seats 6. The editable grid is 10 cells wide and 9 cells tall, counting the front of the room. There are 6 pairs, so everyone has a partner.
Pairs are the smallest unit that can talk. Two students share a task, check an answer, or rehearse a sentence, and the gap between pairs keeps the noise from becoming a table of six. This is the layout to use when turn-and-talk is the habit, not the exception.
